The Gaddi Nasheen

At the heart of the temple’s governance is the Gaddi Nasheen (Resident Head-Priest), the supreme spiritual authority of the Nirvani Akhara.
- Current Custodian: The 22nd Gaddi Nasheen, Mahant Prem Das Ji, was ordained in December 2018. He serves as the primary "Sevak" of the deity, overseeing the daily rituals and maintaining the temple’s ancient sanctity.
- The Sacred Samvidhan (Constitution): The role is governed by a strict 18th-century "Samvidhan" which requires the Gaddi Nasheen to remain within the 52-bigha temple premises for the duration of his life. This vow symbolizes an unwavering commitment to guarding the holy city.
- A Historic Milestone: On April 30, 2025 (Akshaya Tritiya), Mahant Prem Das Ji broke this nearly 300-year-old tradition to perform a historic pilgrimage to the Ram Mandir, marking a significant chapter in Ayodhya's spiritual history.
